While vaginal laxity is often used to describe a general dissatisfaction with the appearance of (and sometimes the sensation derived from) the vulvovaginal area, this is not accurate from a medical perspective. The labia are the inner and outer folds of the vulva on either side of the vagina, so labial laxity specifically refers to how these appear. Childbirth, ageing, reduced hormone production, and many other factors can impact labial appearance.
The ThermiVa® treatment uses gentle heating to stimulate and tighten external vulvovaginal tissue. This is administered in a doctor’s office, and because it is not surgical, no anesthetic is needed. Clients walk out after each treatment and can resume their normal activities. Often, improvement is noted after the very first ThermiVa® treatment (about 30 minutes), but we find that to optimize your results, a series of three is best, each one month apart.
