Take Back Control of Your Bladder
To learn how ThermiVa® can help you take control of your bladder, we first must explain how the bladder normally disposes of urine.
In healthy women, the sphincter muscle (which encircles the urethra) is able to contract sufficiently to close the urethra, preventing leakage. If the sphincter isn’t strong enough to do this, or if the pelvic floor muscles have been weakened so they no longer effectively hold the bladder and urethra in a normal position, incontinence can result. Pregnancy and childbirth often stretch these muscles past the point where they can completely recover. The most common type of incontinence resulting from childbirth is stress incontinence – the accidental release of urine during physical activity like jogging, exercise – even laughing or sneezing.
ThermiVa® will reduce and often eliminate mild to medium levels of stress incontinence. The gentle heating of the pelvic floor tissue tightens and rejuvenates the surrounding muscle, improving its strength and resilience. In addition, the enhanced strength of the sphincter muscle will also reduce the “urge to go” frequency.
We are certified in the use of ThermiVa® for women’s issues.
